Satsang with Shri Chandra Swamiji Udasin September 2017

On the 16th of August, 2017 Swamiji acquiesced to the humble entreaties of his devotees and began speaking during the daily satsang, thus ending his 33-year period of silence. It has been a matter of deep joy and wonder for his devotees to hear him speak after all these years. As an expression of their immense gratitude, the devotees organized a programme of extra japa and kirtan in the ashram from 4 am until 9:30 pm throughout the month of September. So far Swamiji has mostly been speaking in Hindi. Some of the main points he stresses again and again in the daily satsang are as follows:

"Whatever we think of, that we become. Therefore we should spend more and more time in God remembrance. God is Absolute Bliss. The more we remember Him, the more we will become like Him and experience true Bliss."

"To get a human birth is very precious, therefore it should not be wasted. The purpose of human life is to realize God, not to enjoy the sensory pleasures."

"It is only in a pure and stable mind that one can have the experience of God. To achieve purity and stability of mind, two things are indispensable: Dispassion and Practice. Therefore every seeker should sit in meditation daily and regularly at least twice a day, early in the morning and late in the evening. To develop dispassion, one should reflect again and again on death and the transitory nature of all worldly relationships, situations and objects. Only when we feel dispassion towards the world will we be able to fix our minds on God. Otherwise when we sit to meditate, our minds are roaming in the world."

"What is truly yours can never be separated from you. All the worldly relationships, possessions and even our physical body will be snatched from us at the time of death. The relationship of the soul with God is the only real relationship, which does not break at the time of death. God is our true Mother, our true Father, our true Friend, but we do not remember Him. We become enmeshed in the world and forget this true relationship."
